Sisimiut is a charming Greenlandic community on the west
coast of the Danish country. I wish that
I could send photos of the deeply cut and mountainous fjord that lead us into
the Greenlandic community of Sisimiut.
However before I even attempt to describe the community, you would have
marveled at the Greenlander kayaker demonstration of “Eskimo Rolling” by one of
the former champions of the Greenland Kayaking Championships! Our own kayak guide from the IOFFE joined in
the show with his specialty “rolls” along side of his comrade from
Sisimiut! Museums, Art Gallery, and
unique shops dotted the steep cliff sides.
Passengers enjoyed a day hiking, discovering, and yes, even shopping in
this remote and very quaint village of Sisimiut, Greenland.
